| Eligibility | Ages: 18 year(s) and up Males and females over the age of 18 years * serves people from all walks of life with diverse cultural, educational and professional backgrounds The shelters primarily serve York Region's southern municipalities * transportation to all sites is available from Finch subway station at Yonge Street from 4 to 6 pm * guests should wait at the passenger pick-up for the Out of the Cold van Overnight shelters are operated 6 nights per week (Sunday - Friday) during the coldest months of the year (November to March) at our 7 host community sites in Thornhill, Markham and Vaughan | |||

| Description | Provide safe refuge, warm hospitality and emergency shelter to the homeless or those in need of food/clothing * the central coordinating body that provides emergency shelters in coordination with 8 inter-faith communities - The Jaffari Islamic Centre, Temple Har Zion, Thornhill United Church, Rouge Valley Mennonite Church, St. Luke's Catholic Church, Toronto Chinese Community Church, Vaughan Community Church, and St. Marys Anglican Church * overnight shelters are operated 6 nights per week during the coldest months of the year (November to March) at our 7 host community sites * approximately 50 men and women are served a sit-down meal, provided with clean clothes, entertainment such as movies and music, and overnight accommodation * each night up to 30 people sleep overnight, eat a full breakfast, are provided with a bagged lunch, and public transportation tokens; Temple Har Zion, 7360 Bayview Avenue (north of Steeles), Thornhill: every Wednesday 4:30 pm-7:30 am * 30 beds and 50 dinner guests * transportation from Finch Station 4:30 pm-6 pm; St. Luke's Catholic Church, 39 Greenlane (off Bayview, one light North of John Street), Thornhill: every Thursday 4:30 pm-8 am * 30 beds and 50 dinner guests * transportation from Finch Station 4:30 pm-6 pm; Islamic Education & Culture Centre, 9000 Bathurst Street (North of Hwy 7), Richmond Hill: every Tuesday 4:30 pm-8 am * 30 beds and 50 dinner guests * transportation from Finch Station 4:30 pm-6 pm; Thornhill United Church, 25 Elgin Street * 4:30 pm-8 am * 30 beds and 50 dinner guests * transportation from Finch Station 4:30 pm-6 pm; Rouge Valley Mennonite Church, 7452 Reesor Rd.
