| Eligibility | Ages: 16 year(s) and up Accepts applications from qualified families looking for simple, decent, affordable housing * eligibility requirements: current annual income is at or below the GTA Low Income Cut-Offs (LICO’s); earn a steady monthly income sufficient to pay a long term, interest-free mortgage; you have a need for adequate shelter, such as: current shelter has problems heating system, water supply, electricity, bathrooms, kitchen, structure, handicap accessibility, etc; current shelter has inadequate number of bedrooms as determined by: 1) Number of people in the household; 2) Ages of household members; 3) Sex of household members; current neighbourhood is unsuitable (unsanitary or unsafe); current housing payment exceeds 35% of gross income and is unaffordable; unable to obtain a conventional mortgage; willing to partner with Habitat for Humanity and contribute 500 hours of volunteer service (“Sweat Equity”); you have been a resident of York Region or Bradford/West Gwillimbury for at least one year | |||
