EligibilitySmall businesses operating for profit in Canada, with gross annual revenues of $5 million or less.
ApplicationThis federal government program is delivered in all provinces and territories through a network of Financial Institutions including chartered banks, credit unions and caisses populaires. In order to obtain a loan, businesses must present their proposals directly to a financial institution, not to the CSBF Program Directorate. The lenders are responsible for making the decision to approve a loan.
DescriptionLoan loss-sharing program between the federal government and private sector lenders that facilitates access to affordable asset-based financing to small and medium-sized businesses * program provides access to loan financing of up to $500,000 for the establishment, expansion and improvement of small businesses * financing is available up to $350,000 for leasehold improvements, equipment, and up to $500,000 for real property * Government of Canada makes it easier for small businesses to get loans from financial institutions by sharing the risk with lenders
