Chess in the Library Volunteer [ More info  ]   
We are looking for volunteers who would be responsible for: setting-up and monitoring the program, teaching beginners, making sure participants have partners their own level, and playing to fill gaps. Furthermore, volunteers also: promote the club, send representatives to CITL tournaments, answer players’ and parents’ questions, and correspond with the library staff. Library staff will provide on-site supervision.

Council of Advisory Teens (C.A.T.S.) [ More info  ]   
The Council will meet once a month to work on projects that will help shape the programs and services offered to teens by the Newmarket Public Library. Projects could involve program suggestions and development, book displays, web site development, participation in community events, promotional material development, contests, and collection recommendations. This position is for 13 - 18 year old students. This program runs from October to June. Come out and have a say in your Library.
