The Youth Action group are made up of ambitious, dedicated, energetic and concerned youth whose interests include social issues, international development, helping the most vulnerable and working with the local Red Cross Branch. Youth run local awareness and fund raising events in their community and high schools.
We offer youth led workshops in:

- children affected by Armed Conflict
- Land mines
- building a culture of peace
- anti-racism and diversity

Group Conversation Facilitators [ More info ]
Volunteers are needed to facilitate and assist in adult group discussion and skill sessions. Volunteers are trained and supported by a speech language team in using adapted communication skills to assist clients with communication change and loss due to stroke and brain injury.
Our clients and volunteers meet in groups every week to communicate about current events, arts and music. Group conversations include themed discussions, talking about the news and current events. Skill sessions include cooking program, story-telling, book clubs, cards and games. Volunteers also assist the clients with telling and writing their own Life History Books.
Through this rewarding role, you will be providing support to adults with disabilities in dealing with the challenges of a new life along with helping them develop their communication skills.
