Walk Coordinator for Newmarket [ More info ]
Are you up for a challenge? We are looking for a enthusiastic, organized and responsible person to gather volunteers and oversee hosting a ALS Walk in Newmarket! If you are that person apply today. Some of the duties will include you to:
•Select and secure a Walk site in Newmarekt
•Apply for a permitfrom the Town of Newmarekt and complete the necessary paperwork
•Arrange for a certificate of insurance from ALS Ontario
•Read the training manual and other information provided by ALS Ontario and attend the fall training conference
•Obtain local sponsorships
•Establish a place for committee meetings to be held
•Recruit volunteer leaders who will assist in organizing the Walk
•Attend and chair Walk meetings
•Oversee committee members
•Provide timely updates to ALS Ontario
•Work within the budget for the Walk established by ALS Ontario
•Prepare a Walk Profile report following the walk and submit to ALS Ontario

Sphere Culture Club Planning Committee Volunteers will provide support in the planning and implementing of Sphere monthly events and activities, including one annual fundraising event. Volunteers for this role will be helping our office with planning and recruitment of volunteers for next year’s P2P Campaign in February 2014. As a captain, you will be involved in supporting a team of 10 canvassers who live in your neighborhood in February. Your tasks will include: making personal contact with your canvassers, welcoming them as a canvasser and introducing yourself as their Captain, delivering and picking up their canvassing kits at the beginning and end of the campaign, touching base with them in Mid February, reporting in to us as to how your team is doing and how much money they have collected so far, and of course thanking your canvassers and asking them to help again next year. If you are friendly, organized and mature, have experience and/or interest in volunteering in a canvassing campaign, enjoy getting to know your neighbors, then this is the ideal role for you!

We are looking for someone to fill the Committee Role of Promotions and Recruitment for the event alongside two other members. You will be responsible for promoting and securing community participation in the event. You will be required to attend two meetings a month and commit 5 hours a month to completing tasks assigned to your role from April-September. Experience in planning a fundraising event is an asset.
