Would you like to visit one of our residents, assist them with writing letters, knitting, read short stories to them or just be a friendly mature visitor to brighten a residents day by sharing news on short visits to alleviate loneliness?  
 
We would love to arrange a resident with similar interests to you to share in a social visit.

Nursing/Program/Dietary/Administrative Aides [ More info  ]   
We are looking for volunteers to assist in our programs as Nursing/Program/Dietary/Administrative Aides. Volunteers must be comfortable interacting frequently with residents living with Dementia

Feeding Assistant [ More info  ]   
Would you like to help feed some of our residents that require assistance? 
This position would need you to show compassion by being availalbe for the main meals during breakfast, lunch and dinner, organizing of clothing, encourage fluid intake rounds. 
 

Dining Room Assistants [ More info  ]   
To assist Nursing and Dietary staff at meal-times to ensure that residents have a pleasurable dining experience. Duties can include one or more of the following tasks; 
- assist residents in coming to the dining rooms 
- assist Dietary staff in preparing resident's place settings 
- assist Nursing staff to help residents who need feeding assistance 
- serve refreshments to residents 
- assist residents back to their rooms following meal-time. 
 
Note that all activities in the dining rooms are under the supervision of Registered Nursing staff. 
Volunteers will be oriented on Ministry of Health regulations regarding meal-time assistance. For those who wish to participate in feeding assistance, video and hands-on training will be provided. 

Feeding Assistance Volunteer [ More info  ]   
Volunteers are needed to assist our nursing staff in providing meaningful dining experiences. Training is provided so that you will be confident in feeding up to two residents that are unable to feed themselves.

Recreation Volunteer [ More info  ]    
During our recreation programs we are looking for volunteers to assist with programs at the long-term care facility, such as knitting, men’s group, shopping trips, friendly visiting, and more.  
 
Volunteers will mingle with residents, and help with program set-up, while assisting staff in a pleasant and welcoming environment.

Would you like to assist our programs during activity time? Residents need assistance to and from their rooms along with assistance with some of the activities. Come and enjoy their company while providing a learning experience in the area of recreation. 
 
Some of the activities are residents enjoy are bingo, expresso time, Wii games, golf, ring toss, music, movie time, horse shoes, darts and more.

Meal Assistant [ More info  ]   
To provide assistance to those who cannot self feed and/or to provide encouragement or reminders to those who may be losing their ability to feed themselves. Volunteers wishing to assist in this particular area would be trained by an in house Dietitian.
