We are looking for adult advisers for our Humanitarian Issues Program and youth action groups in York Region. Your role would be to offer guidance, support, motivation and mentor ship to the youth. Working with the Coordinator you would also help with the planning and running of activities. Optional facilitator roles in our Humanitarian Issues Program are available. This is a youth leadership program teaching youth to deliver workshops around subjects on Humanitarian Issues including: International Humanitarian Law, Children and War, Women and War, etc. There are occasional requests to deliver workshops in the schools, community that adult advisers are needed for also. York Mentoring Coach [ More info  ]           
COSTI’s York Mentoring Program is designed to connect youth (mentees) with adult community volunteers (mentors) who have a college or university degree the chance to offer support and encourage youth to develop their skills, improve their performance and become the person they want to be.

We are looking for volunteers who would be responsible for: setting-up and monitoring the program, teaching beginners, making sure participants have partners their own level, and playing to fill gaps. Furthermore, volunteers also: promote the club, send representatives to CITL tournaments, answer players’ and parents’ questions, and correspond with the library staff. Library staff will provide on-site supervision.

The Council will meet once a month to work on projects that will help shape the programs and services offered to teens by the Newmarket Public Library. Projects could involve program suggestions and development, book displays, web site development, participation in community events, promotional material development, contests, and collection recommendations. Are you 14 years of age or older? Do you like working with children? If so we are looking for assistant leaders to help with our scouting programs for:  
Beaver Scouts aged 5 to 7 years of age  
Cubs aged 8-10 years of age.  
Scout Aged 11-13 years of age.  
These are active groups that spends many of our meetings in the out of doors. To work with Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts you need to be 14 or older. To work with Scouts you need to be 16 or older. 
• Duties usually involved in leading games, songs, stories 
• Help with crafts, outdoor activities 
• Often work with smaller groups of youth members 
• Help with administrative duties (e.g. dues, attendance) 
• Involved in program planning Scouts Canada's Mission is: To contribute to the education of young people, through a value system based on the Scout Promise and Law, to help build a better world where people are self-fulfilled as individuals and play a constructive role in society.

We are looking for members for our Scout Canada Rover Crew. The main focus of this group is to fund raise for the community and to assist the York Regional Police with fund raising initiatives. You will also participate in Child Seat Safety displays at local shopping malls working with our traffic unit. This is a partnership with Scouts Canada and York Regional Police.

This is a leadership role providing encouragement, coaching, and guidance to the York Regional Police Venture Crew. Meetings are weekly along with several camping trips per year.

Male Mentors Needed [ More info  ]         
We need volunteers - especially guys 16 - 29 years old - to tutor/mentor at risk youth in your community. You'll both benefit. We train you, and you can do it on your own schedule. You can make a difference. 
 
Youth Assisting Youth is a non-profit charitable organization that provides mentoring services for youth 6 - 15 years old. 
 
Volunteers will provide positive support, homework help, coaching and leadership to youth on a one-to-one basis or in groups including after school programs, arts and/or recreational activities. Second language skills are preferred but not required. Attend attractions, professional sports events, etc. together. FREE passes/tickets provided. Scholarships available. Comprehensive training provided. Young professionals and post secondary students/grads needed.
