The Black Foundation of Community Networks (BFCN) is looking for volunteers to assist in their Friday Focus program for students aged JK to Grade 12. It is a fun, math-based program. We are looking for adult advisers for our Humanitarian Issues Program and youth action groups in York Region. Your role would be to offer guidance, support, motivation and mentor ship to the youth. Working with the Coordinator you would also help with the planning and running of activities. Optional facilitator roles in our Humanitarian Issues Program are available. This is a youth leadership program teaching youth to deliver workshops around subjects on Humanitarian Issues including: International Humanitarian Law, Children and War, Women and War, etc. There are occasional requests to deliver workshops in the schools, community that adult advisers are needed for also. Are you 14 years of age or older? Do you like working with children? If so we are looking for assistant leaders to help with our scouting programs for:
Beaver Scouts aged 5 to 7 years of age
Cubs aged 8-10 years of age.
Scout Aged 11-13 years of age.
These are active groups that spends many of our meetings in the out of doors. To work with Beaver Scouts and Cub Scouts you need to be 14 or older. To work with Scouts you need to be 16 or older.
• Duties usually involved in leading games, songs, stories
• Help with crafts, outdoor activities
• Often work with smaller groups of youth members
• Help with administrative duties (e.g. dues, attendance)

Youth Assisting Youth is a non-profit charitable organization that provides mentoring services for youth 6 - 15 years old.
Volunteers will provide positive support, homework help, coaching and leadership to youth on a one-to-one basis or in groups including after school programs, arts and/or recreational activities. Second language skills are preferred but not required. Attend attractions, professional sports events, etc. together. FREE passes/tickets provided. Scholarships available. Comprehensive training provided. Young professionals and post secondary students/grads needed.
