Relay for Life Volunteer [ More info  ]    
Relay For Life is an amazing 24 hour event for everyone... even volunteers... we celebrate cancer Survivors!  
 
At night we have a candlelight ceremony to remember those who have passed on, or those who are currently fighting cancer... and then in the morning we have a closing event. 
 
Volunteers are needed to assist with parking early Friday evening & Saturday to assist with morning tear down. If you can help we would appreciate your assistance! Apply today.

We have a group home located at Shadow Lake, close to Stouffville which is home to two residents. We are currently looking for a volunteer to provide friendship and help with outings.

Vendor Volunteer - one time event [ More info  ]   
We are looking for volunteers to help with coordinating vendor's set up, help with vendor's take down, along with guiding the public around the facility. This will be a one time event on April 21, 2012.

Hospice Visiting Volunteer [ More info  ]    
We are seeking individuals to join us in making a difference by providing non-medical support to individuals with a life threatening illness and their families. Your time, compassion and commitment will help make someone’s journey with serious illness more manageable and meaningful. Client volunteers must complete an interview, 30-hours of professionally-led training “Core Concepts in Palliative Care” (offered 3 times per year), reference check and police vulnerable sector check.

Volunteer Mentor - Facilitator [ More info  ]           
Using our highly interactive education programs you will aid students in developing necessary business and life skills, to enter tomorrows’ workforce. Acting as a resource, facilitator, motivator and role model you facilitate a Junior Achievement program in the classroom for a day. You and a colleague/friend can sign up together, we can match you with a partner, or you can volunteer on your own. We have three programs to choose from, depending on your interests and skills. The following middle and high school programs are always in high demand. 
 
PROGRAMS: 
 
Dollars with Sense - Grade 7 - One Full School Day 
This highly interactive program is designed to encourage students to develop the economic literacy necessary to make informed decisions about their financial futures. Students will assess their skills and strengths while learning about future careers possibilities, money management, and investment choices.  
 
Economics for Success - Grade 8 - One Full School Day 
Four key concepts are introduced to help students develop a positive attitude towards education while recognizing the personal and economic costs of living on their own: Success, Independence, Opportunity, Futures.  
 
Company Program - Grade 9 to 12 - 3 hrs/week for 18 weeks 
JA’s flagship after-school program empowers high school students to experience the risks and rewards of entrepreneurship by creating and operating their own company. Volunteers from the local business community lead students through this fast paced program in various schools and corporate offices across Central Ontario.

OYVC- Youth Advisory [ More info  ]           
The Youth Advisory for the Ontario Youth Volunteer Challenge is looking for high school students to promote youth volunteerism in their York Region high school. 
 
If you can inspire youth to volunteer, support and promote school and community events during the challenge we would like you to come to our Youth Day on the upcoming PD Day Friday March 9, 2012 from 12 - 4. 
 
You will be asked to share ways to promote volunteering in your school, work on creative morning announcements, make up display boards to use for lunch time recruitment booths, learn leadership skills to help in planning a school wide event and more.You will then have the materials to take back to assist you in promoting the challenge to your own school community.

MENTOR A KID TO SUCCEED & LEAD YOUTH IN THE RIGHT PATH [ More info  ]        
VOLUNTEER MENTORS NEEDED TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN A KID'S LIFE 
As a mentor you provide positive support, coaching and leadership to youth on a one-to-one basis. 
We need youth aged 16 to 29 yrs, especially MALES to mentor a younger youth in their community. Share your experiences, skills, and hobbies and inspire a kid to stay on the right track. Mentors spend 3 hours a week with a younger youth engaging in recreational activities of their choice. You can volunteer on your schedule and close to your home.
