Description (Service) Offers a wide variety of programming serving elementary, secondary and adult learners * Global Education Opportunities, Night School for Semesters 1 & 2, as well as Summer School, Co-operative Education, Summer e-Learning, Reaching Up Credit for Grade 8 students * Saturday Credit Courses, Literacy Preparation for Grades 8-10, and Math Preparation for Grade 8 students;

Adult ESL program Adult English classes are offered throughout York Region during the day, evenings and on Saturdays

Adult Programsconversational language classes, international language instructor training, writing, Microsoft Office training;

Prior Learning and Assessment and Recognition (PLAR)

Driver Education training driver education includes in-class instruction, in-car instruction, in-class/home assignments and CARS Driver Education Workbook * Road Test is not part of the YCDSB Driver Education Program;

Elementary Division provides extended learning after school and on Saturday mornings, many languages at 19 school sites * remedial after school literacy and numeracy skills classes throughout the school year for students in grades 1 to 8 * see programs below;

Secondary Division offers learning opportunities such as After School Literacy and Numeracy Skills as a way to improve student success;

International Languages offered outside regular school hours to all York Region elementary school children, currently in grades JK-8 at catholic schools throughout York Region * program is funded by the Ontario Ministry of Education and will be of interest to students who wish to preserve their language, cultural heritage and traditions, and to students who wish to study the language and heritage of another culture;

Skills and Technology Grade 7,8 provides additional academic support in reading, writing and math and complies with the Ministry of Education curriculum * Ministry funded, free;

Skills, Technology, Applications and Remedial Support (STARS) program summer program for students entering grades 4 to 6 * opportunities to further build their literacy and numeracy skills using technology as a source of motivation to gainmore knowledge;

Reading Readiness Students in Grade 1or 2 will explore the world of reading readiness skills that will help them learn how to read successfully. Students will be given an opportunity to develop their reading readiness skills and become excited about learning how to read. This program will help foster a greater sense of confidence as students experience the essential skills of reading readiness through various engaging activities;

LEAP into Learning program for grade 3 and for grade 6 * integrated program of reading, writing, and mathematics * program is intended to provide support, remediation, and enrichment for students * focus on reviewing literacy and numeracy curriculum expectations for the grade;

French Conversation provides primary and junior students early French language experiences in an interactive and artistic environment * children will study the language through active participation and conversation * The sounds of grammar are introduced through dialogue that will help children develop basic French vocabulary and language skills * features a mix of activities focusing on language, culture, art, and songs * Interactive games, audio visual, music, and art also provide an environment where young children can be fully immersed in the new language and learn it naturally through play
