Description (Service) Our Lady of Grace, 15347 Yonge Street, Aurora, 905-727-4594: Several churches in Aurora give to Welcoming Arms with St. Vincent de Paul * at Christmas, donations are given out through Our Lady of Grace Church, and there mandate is that people have to have proof that they live in Aurora * available to low income Aurora residents with a minimum 3 visits to Welcoming Arms in current year and a current complete eligibility application * applications in November * partner with the Salvation Army and the Aurora Legion to offer a Christmas Dream Dinner on December 25th with Santa & Mrs Claus 
 
Newmarket Church of Christ, 230 Davis Dr, Newmarket. 905-895-6502: the Newmarket Church of Christ is once again working closely with Maple Leaf Public School * for families with children attending Maple Leaf, they can contact the school and the school, church, and neighbourhood will join together to help provide assistance to families in need * need donations of gift cards and food vouchers 
 
Salvation Army, Central York Region, Northridge Community Church, 15338 Leslie St. Aurora. 905-895-6276: Spirit of Christmas program: Every year, Northridge mounts a massive effort to help give needy people some comfort and joy at Christmas time * a large warehouse fills with donated goods, and last year struggling families in central York Region received food, toys for kids, and warm clothing to help ease their troubles at Christmas, Santa Shuffle fundraiser  
 
Grace Church, Newmarket: Is offering Christmas Dinners as an extension through Eastridge Church in Stouffville: Contact there is Norman Clements 905 852 5762.  
 
Mount Albert United Church, 41 Alice St, Mount Albert. 905-473-2562: offers a food pantry the last Wednesday of every month from 2 pm-6 pm--the Christmas pickup with be held on Friday December 20th * full packages of gifts and food are prepared for families that regularly use the food pantry * if someone is in need of the assistance of the food pantry they can call the church at 905-473-2562 
 
Springvale Church, 3885 Stouffville Rd, Stouffville. 905-887-5651* has a Christmas assistance program * each request is handled individually; they do not have a set application process in place  
 
The Salvation Army, Richmond Hill, 55 Newkirk Road, Richmond Hill. Office - 905-737-0496: Offering Christmas Assistance of toys to eligible families who live in Richmond Hill and Maple who are in need; Registration starts early November and continues throughout November and December; Any interested families can call and make an appointment to come and register; They need to bring ID, proof of income, and proof of rent & utilities; Those who qualify will be invited to the Toy Warehouse in Richmond Hill to choose toys for their kids; It is recommended that children are not brought to the Warehouse for the toy pick-up appointment 
 
Thornhill United Church, 25 Elgin St, Thornhill. 905-889-2131: participates in the Christmas Assistance Program of the Thornhill Ministerial Association, which co-ordinates the efforts of various churches in Thornhill * the Program is co-ordinated out of Thornhill United Church * this service is for Thornhill residents only (Steeles Avenue, Hwy. 407 and/or Hwy 7 and Hwy 404 and Keele St) 
 
Unionville Alliance Church, 4898 16th Ave, Markham. 905-477-1104: runs a hamper program where the family needs to sign up to receive a hamper of food and assorted gifts for each person in the family (based on gender and age); If they are on any other list in the community they are not eligible; They must call the church 9 am-4 pm Mon-Thurs; They will be asked for their personal information, ie address, phone, ages, children etc  
 
Christmas in King works in partnership with the King Township Food Bank to bring requested items including gifts to those struggling to make ends meet; Registration is done either through the Food Bank, or by referral from others, on food bank website; do not have to be registered with the Food Bank to register for this Christmas in King * More information is available on the website: http://kingtownshipfoodbank.ca/index.html * Most of the churches in King and a number of businesses and individuals support the effort by ‘adopting’ families, donating funds or offering ‘in kind’ assistance such as Christmas trees, food, decorations and delivery assistance * to help contact catrabert@gmail.com * cannot be registered with another Christmas assistance program

Maple Hill Baptist Church, Keswick provides families in need at Christmas time with a full Christmas dinner (including a turkey and dessert) and gifts for their children * eligibility is usually identified by the source at Jersey Public School and dependent upon whether they are receiving help from any other sources * deadlines for signing up is usually about 3 weeks before the baskets are to be delivered  
 
Keswick United Church: has an ongoing emergency food bank that is open when the office is open weekday mornings * also have a thrift store with clothing and small goods that charges no more than $2 for anything - so a great place to Christmas shop * The Gathering Place will be having a free festive turkey Christmas dinner with music on Thursday Dec 15th 2016 at 5pm at Keswick United Church 
 
Thornhill Area Christmas Assistance: The Christmas Assistance Program (CAP) in this area is under the guidance of the Thornhill Ministerial an informal association of the ministers of the Christian Churches made up of volunteers from the Anglican, Baptist, Presbyterian and United Churches * service is provided in the Thornhill area defined as Steeles Ave. to Highway #7 and Highway 404 to Dufferin Street * the main source for client names is the list from the previous year * additions to the list can come from applications being sent to the committee from the Churches or a social agency * the main eligibility is financial need and living within the Thornhill area. Religion is not a factor * there are occasional deliveries made outside the Thornhill area based on specific requests from one or mores of the Churches 
 
Thornhill Area Christmas Assistance: Women's Centre of York Region www.wcyr.ca apply in person or email application to info@wcyr.ca for clients approved for tangible supports, quantities are limited- Winter Warmth Program: receive gift cards to purchase a coat, boots and holiday gift for you and your children; Holiday Stockings (Aurora United Church): receive a stocking filled with small toys for your children; Pampered Pillowcase: receive pillowcase full of special items just for you; pjs and slippers\cozy
