Description (Service) Coordinates eight week program offering people of all ages and disabilities a chance to experience skiing * offered with the help of volunteer instructors at Horseshoe Resort, The Heights at Horseshoe and Snow Valley;

Bursary to assist individual attending CADS Festival for the first time;

Ontario Para Alpine Race Team (OPART) offers a Learn to Race program, that runs out of Craigleith on Sundays in January and February * Candidates for the program must have a physical disability, and ski independently, with a ‘Need for Speed’ * participants are expected to work at improving their fitness level, while learning to negotiate through race gates, must have their own equipment * program aims to have participants progress to the Provincial Team at the end of two seasons;

Alpine Ontario Para Race Team (AOPRT) or (OPAST) Educates, promotes, and trains Para Athletes to participate in para alpine racing * members train, compete and promote para alpine racing at all levels * members who have a variety of congenital and acquired physical challenges, racing in stand up, sitting or visually impaired categories, and includes athletes who are fifteen and over

children, youth and adults with disabilities * bursary individual must be attending CADS Festival for first time, CADS member in good standing, have a letter of recommendation from the program director
Application physician's permission, along with medical history, required * individual assessments are necessary to determine suitability for program * registration begins in September at individual participating locations * Visit www.disabledskiingontario.com to complete list of programs * must obtain CADS membership for participation, but membership does not guarantee placement in a program and should only be purchased after acceptance into a program * see website for details * See website for 2017-2018 season deadline
