Youth Assisting Youth, Peer Mentoring Programs
Close to volunteer's home
Help children. Change a Life. Become a Mentor.

We need volunteers aged 16 to 29 to go one-on-one with at-risk and/or newcomer children and youth!

Who are we?
The goal of Youth Assisting Youth is simple: help at-risk and newcomer children and youth find their way, by pairing them with a volunteer youth mentor who can offer support and guidance.

How does it work?
We pair you with a child (aged 6 to 15) based on common interests, background and where you live. From there, the mentoring begins, with ongoing support from us.
You will share experiences, skills, and hobbies and inspire a younger youth to stay on the right track. You can volunteer on your schedule and close to home. Applicants must live in Toronto or York Region. Please do not apply if live outside these areas.

What’s in it for you?
In a tough job market, being a mentor shows community leadership, an attribute that all employers love. You’ll make a real difference that counts in the life of a child. You get to do fun stuff for FREE, like attending professional sporting events such as Raptors or Jays games, our annual 3 day Summer Camp up north, and other cool field trips such as Canada’s Wonderland or Wild Water Kingdom.

" Youth Assisting Youth gave me the chance to instill positive self-worth in a child… and gain a very dear friend.” – Krishana, Mentor
