Have you had bone or joint (orthopaedic) surgery within the last 2 years? Would you like to help others facing surgery by sharing your personal experience and answering questions? We are looking for volunteers willing to connect by phone with patients newly referred for orthopaedic surgery to share a real-world patient view of what to expect from their treatment. Volunteers are matched based on the patient-clients’ needs and preferences: type of surgery, age, gender, language, location and more, for as many commonalities as possible.

Memory bears are treasured keepsakes for the recipient whose loved one has died. The seamstress makes the memory bears using a loved one's clothing and the pattern and material provided to the sewer. Sewing is done in one's own home. This volunteer role is suitable for a person with some sewing experience.

We have three interest groups that you can choose from outdoor programs (eg. hiking, GPS caches and divers nature programs), art making programs (eg. workshops, children camps and artist-run-activities) and gallery interpretation programs (eg. gallery tours, handling objects). Choose one or all three!

Volunteering is the back bone of our community here in Newmarket Ontario. If you are interested in helping others, solving community issues, helping people in need and meeting new people, having fun and making an impact at home and around the world, the North Newmarket Lions Club is the volunteer organization for you! 
Club members use their time and talents to provide hands on assistance, to enhance the lives of those in need in our community. This organization is for men and women alike. Our club has many lady members who are already Lions. You can also join with your spouse or life partner and receive a discount on the membership fees. 
If you would like to pursue a leadership role, or would just like to lend a helping hand, Lions membership offers extensive opportunities for the kind of volunteer experience you desire. A side benefit is that you'll feel good when you go to sleep at night. 
You will have many opportunities to work on projects that interest you and to undertake the leadership roles of your choice. We are always looking for good leaders, with good ideas!

The Ontario Clean Air Alliance is a coalition dedicated to moving Ontario toward a 100% renewable energy grid. OCAA invites people to distribute pamphlets door-to-door (in mailboxes) or at special events to educate Ontarians on the true costs of nuclear power vs. green energy alternatives. The pamphlets include an action component. 
When registering, please indicate which town you would like to deliver in.
