Group Facilitator   Vaughan  York Region
Caritas School of Life, School of Life and My Second Home, Addictions & Mental Health Treatment Centre
My Second Home is a drop in mental health day program serving adults facing mental health issues who are seeking additional support within their community. We offer a non-judge-mental, safe, and therapeutic environment in which participants are encouraged and empowered to strive for their potential. We offer various group sessions every day, ranging from art therapy to cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), we are always integrating new group ideas to further enrich the participants' experience at My Second Home.

The volunteers’ duty is to passionately facilitate a group activity with the participants. You can get as creative as you want and take the time you need to efficiently conduct the group activity. The first step would be to pitch your idea to us and then we can go from there. It can be anything ranging from the creative arts (such music therapy, crafts, knitting, cooking, etc.) to meditation activities, and particular skills and education based. Feel free to take a look at past group sessions to get a feel for the program. Keep in mind that you could volunteer to facilitate a onetime group session or have an ongoing group activity. Ultimately your duty is to facilitate your group session, the staff is always here to support you in any way.
