We are looking for volunteers willing to connect by phone with patients newly referred for orthopaedic surgery to share a real-world patient view of what to expect from their treatment. Volunteers are matched based on the patient-clients’ needs and preferences: type of surgery, age, gender, language, location and more, for as many commonalities as possible.

This ongoing position is ideal for individuals who are committed, responsible, and patient.

Educator/Public health speaker - individual interested in sharing knowledge in the a variety of areas. These educational pieces will be shared with clients, volunteers, caregivers, staff and community members.

Would you like to assist with our bingo games that are held on Saturday afternoon and Wednesday evenings? Along with helping residents to play the game if required, we need help with bringing residents to the activity. To help with having our activity achieve success there will be other duties as assigned by Recreation Staff.

The Leisure Buddy program matches campers with mild special needs to individuals interested in providing the necessary support ensuring successful recreation and leisure experiences. The volunteers are not required to provide support such as toileting or feeding, the support simply involves the volunteer acting as a friend for the camper. Volunteers are always supported by summer camp staff and directors and will never be left alone with their camper.

Supervisor: Program Lead, Home Based Support (GTA) 
Objective: Provide community-based support: provide one-on-one sighted assistance and companionship for a person who is blind or partially sighted. 
Responsibilities & Tasks: 
• Regularly visit a client in his/her home or other suitable environment at a mutually convenient time 
• Activities are determined by client need and mutually agreed upon 
• Approved activities are: reading, organizing, walking, assisting with errands or outings, and friendly visiting 
• All outings are on foot, by public transportation or taxi 
• Notify the client in advance if you will miss a visit; notify your supervisor if you will miss more than two in a row 
• When a client needs more support, service, counseling or information then you are able to give, refer them to staff 
• Track and report volunteer hours as directed 
• Do not cook, clean, provide personal care, do home repairs, give advice, provide counseling, or do heavy lifting 
• Do not drive clients 
• Do not offer advice or recommendations on treatment, health care professionals, or any medical information
