Hospice Georgina, Non-medical support to individuals with life limiting illness and their families
Our lifestyle program can improve a clients outlook, coping skills and sense of purpose in life. Lifestyle volunteers offer hands on opportunities to explore creative arts, such as painting, quilting, music, journaling, scrap booking, gardening drumming, photography, crafts and more. These activities and complementary therapies support our clients well being by providing yoga, meditation, visualization, native healing, Tai Chi, therapeutic touch, massage therapy and more. If you would like to volunteer or have skills to share please help in this exciting program today.

The Kidney Foundation of Canada requires Special Event Volunteers to support the York Region Kidney Walk in the following areas: 
• registration 
• route marshalling/cheer crowd 
• parking 
• set-up/take-down 
• food and beverage stations 
• kids' activities 
• photography

As a leader of the Photography Group, part of the Aphasia and Communication Disabilities Program, volunteers will: 
-Set up room and equipment for the session 
-Help clients in operation and use of the camera (e.g. deleting photos, on/off buttons, etc.) 
-Collect cameras from clients for memory cards to input into laptop for viewing and discussion 
-Create client gallery (7-10 prints per client, add titles & bios) 
-Hang all material for display to the public 
-Assist clients in discussion using different communication strategies and methods 
-Plan and lead the 10-week participatory photography group as laid out in the “1000 Words” module 
-Report any lateness and absences to staff liaison in a timely manner 
-Record and report weekly volunteer hours 
-Adhere to all MODC policies, procedures and guidelines
