The York Region Food Network is looking for volunteers to assist at their community garden in Newmarket. Volunteers will assist in general garden maintenance such as weeding and watering during the growing season. All skills levels are welcome. Volunteers are also encouraged to harvest and take home the food that they grow.

York Region Food Network operates programs, raises awareness and promotes policy changes for increased access to affordable and nutritious food produced within a sustainable food system. We are currently looking for volunteer delivery drivers to support our monthly fresh produce program, the Good Food Box. The driver will be asked to help us deliver boxes to a designated drop-off site in the Oak Ridges-King-Aurora-Newmarket area.  
No special driver’s license required.  
This is a great opportunity to get out and learn more about your community!

As a member of the Youth Steering Committee you must be interested in environmental sustainability, healthy living and good food education, your responsibilities will be to: 
* Actively represent Seeds For Change in accordance with the organization’s mandate and philosophy and assist in the promotion of the Seeds For Change message and presence 
* Use your voice to promote positive change in your community 
* Participate in bi-weekly committee meetings 
* Attend and participate in Seeds For Change events 
* Help, whenever possible, to organize fundraisers and other events 
* Act as a liaison between youth and the Seeds For Change team, i.e. representing youth during decision-making processes 
* Work in coordination with the Seeds For Change team on various decision-making and executive duties for the growth and development of Seeds For Change
